Our Troop’s storied history would not have been possible without decades of dedicated adult volunteer support.  Bringing our parent volunteers together in a variety of roles supports Scouts and builds a vibrant Scouting community with new friendships all around.

Scoutmaster

The Scoutmaster is the adult responsible for working directly with Scouts, providing inspiration, direction, coaching, and support.  Our Scoutmaster has introduced new programming to our Troop including rock climbing and a strengthening of our community service programs.

Committee Chair

The troop Committee Chair leads our adult volunteers and ensures that all adult committee functions are carried out in compliance with BSA policies, procedures, and best practices. Our Committee Chair is the glue that holds our Troop unit together by helping us to stay organized, financially strong, and by welcoming new parents as volunteers and participants in our community.

Recruiting Coordinator

Our recruiting coordinator organizes Troop 236’s recruiting activities throughout the year, sharing Troop 236’s story with prospective Scouts and parents and creating ways for potential new Scouts to get to know our community.

Membership Coordinator

Our membership coordinator helps new members to navigate the membership process, including new scout registration and membership renewals, collection of required medical forms, and updating of our Troop roster over time.

Assistant Scoutmasters of Outings and High Adventure

An Assistant Scoutmaster is an adult leader over the age of 18 who works with the Scoutmaster and mentors Scouts across a wide array of programming and activities. Our ASMs of High Adventure has additional responsibilities for supporting the planning and implementation of a number of exciting outdoor activities, including rock climbing, snow camping, up to 50-miler backpacking trips, canoeing, and so on.

An assistant Scoutmaster is an adult leader over the age of 18 who helps the Scoutmaster deliver the promise of Scouting. Each assistant Scoutmaster is assigned specific program duties. Our ASM, Den Chief Coordinator works with Cub Scouts in our area to create pathways for younger boys to graduate into BSA.
